The Right To Play

10 Apr

Last Saturday Tekera Primary School kicked off the first Sports Day of 2011. The school was divided into four teams and competed in a variety of Track and Field events from sprinting, to distance running, shot-put and javelin. As a refreshing break from School, the kids got to burn off some energy and clear their minds from the looming government exams and never-ending chores of farm life. By providing sports facilities and the opportunity to play, Tekera Resource Centre firmly believes in the right to play and encourages athletics for all ages. Below, ICEF staff Jess Casey as the acting Headmaster of Tekera Primary School hands out the trophy to the winning team.
